Training & Workshops!!!!

Plans are underway to host a Summer Institute 2007. More info to be supplied daily.
Other Workshops being planned to take place in Clyde River – Technical Workshop sponsored by Piksuk Media with support from Nunavut Film.

Drumsong Communications and IBC will be hosting another Scriptwriting Workshop – more details shortly.

Inuit Communications Systems Ltd., and Piksuk Media are finalizing their co-production The Mystery of Akioq, an historical documentary.

Drumsong Communications if preparing to edit The Most Interesting People. You’ll Ever Want to Meet – a biopic of James Houston. The White Archer based on a James Houston children’s novel will start filming in Nunavut this coming winter.

Tajarnijarniit, are developing a one-off documentary and an educational series to be shot in three communities – Pangnirtung, Pond Inlet and Clyde River. They will be training 10 people in each of the three communities. If you want some training in film/tv production on an actual shoot contact Myna Ishuluktak at 979-3977.

Members of Tajarnijarniit will be attending the Women in Film & Television Summit in Toronto this July. It is the first time this summit has been held in Canada.

Banff World Television Festival featured a panel on the Nunavut Animation Lab as part of its program. Debbie Brisebois (IBC) and Derek Mazur (NFB) were among the panelists. Works of the four artsis from Nunavut were shown during the panel discussion. The Nunavut Artists who are half-way through a four month animated film course at the Banff Centre are: Alethea Aarnaquq Baril, Jonathan Wright, Gyu Oh, and Amie Papatsie.


Zacharias Kunkuk shot on locations in the high Arctic during the Winter and Spring in Resolute and Grise Fiord. For an upcoming documentary entitled The Exiles.


Ajjiit Equipment for training and members use

Ajjiit has equipment available for training purposes and for members usage. The equipment, including two broadcast quality cameras was purchased over a year ago.
